Robert Ray Wisdom, born on September 14, 1953, is an American actor known for his versatile roles in television and film. Notable among his roles are Howard "Bunny" Colvin in "The Wire," Norman "Lechero" St. John in "Prison Break," and Harold Conway in the 2021 Hulu film "Vacation Friends."
Wisdom, born to Jamaican parents, has a strong educational background. He is a graduate of St. Albans School and Columbia University, where he distinguished himself as a star sprinter on the school's track team.
His acting career gained recognition with his appearance in four of the five seasons of the HBO series "The Wire," where he portrayed Howard "Bunny" Colvin, particularly in seasons three and four. Wisdom's initial audition for the show was for the role of Stringer Bell. He has also been part of films like "Barbershop 2: Back in Business" (2004), "Ray" (2004), and "Freedom Writers" (2007). In the television realm, he had a regular role in the third season of "Prison Break," playing the character Lechero, a Panamanian drug kingpin. Wisdom has also had recurring roles in TV series such as "Supernatural," "Happy Town," and "Burn Notice." Additionally, he was once a producer for NPR's "All Things Considered."
From 2012 to 2013, Wisdom was a series regular in the first season of the ABC drama series "Nashville," portraying Coleman Carlisle. In more recent years, he starred in the HBO black-comedy series "Barry" from 2022 to 2023, playing the character Jim Moss.
